At Lord of Life we have a genuine concern for the well-being of all people. We joyfully follow God's call to love one another, and we invite you to experience the word of God without fear of judgment or discrimination. With God's help we provide a safe and fulfilling place for you, regardless of where you are on your faith journey. If you do not have a church home, we invite you to our community of faith.

Curbside Care Kits for those in Need

Our Family Life Table spent an afternoon after church in September putting together “Care Kits” for the homeless. Thrivent Financial partnered with us to collect and buy bus passes, toiletries, snacks and other items to put into each kit.

The ELCA World Hunger Relief

During Advent, Lord of Life puts together a gifting tree, benefitting the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s “Good Gifts” program. Each ornament is paid for by a member of the congregation to “gift” an animal, uniform, water well, or other much-needed item to a developing community. In addition, Lord of Life puts on a semi-annual “Splash Day” to raise money for water wells.

Even our youth took up pens to ask our Senators for help in ending world hunger.

Bread for the World Sunday

Lord of Life sponsored a letter-writing campaign for the Bread for the World Sunday 2018, encouraging our Congress to make funding decision that will help end hunger.

Lutheran Campus Ministries

Lord of Life is the designated ELCA campus ministry site for the University of Central Oklahoma.

Project66 Community Food Pantry

Project66, in partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, provides food to families in need in Edmond, Arcadia, and the surrounding area. Volunteers work with directly with families, stock the shelves, and work on the administrative side of the Food Pantry.

Oaks Indian Mission

This year, Lord of Life’s Christmas charity was Oaks Indian Mission. Individual Christmas stockings were given to each child and youth at Oaks. Additional gifts were given to the cottages at Oaks. Our Advent and Lenten offerings are another way the congregation supports Oaks Indian Mission.
