At Lord of Life we have a genuine concern for the well-being of all people. We joyfully follow God's call to love one another, and we invite you to experience the word of God without fear of judgment or discrimination. With God's help we provide a safe and fulfilling place for you, regardless of where you are on your faith journey. If you do not have a church home, we invite you to our community of faith.

Come to the Tables, All are Welcome!

All members and Friends of Lord of Life are invited to a Tables.

What is a Table?

We use the word ‘table’ instead of 'committee' or 'team'.

At Lord of Life, everyone is invited to the Table.  Yes! everyone is invited to be a part of the mission and ministries of the Church.  Those sitting at the Tables often change - we come and go, depending on our gifts and interests and the current focus of the tables. If a Table is doing something you have expertise or an interest in, come to the Table!

The Connections Table brings together the congregation and the greater community, though social media, advertising and publicity and good old fashioned 'evangelism'.

Christian Education supports faith-based education and experiences. We have two Christian Education Tables—one for children and youth and the second for adult education.

Children's Ministry

This Table is responsible for the Lutheran-based Christian education of the children and youth (ages 3 to high school), including weekly Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Children's Church and Confirmation Classes.  The Christian Education Table opportunities for personal and spiritual growth, through special events, service projects and outings.

Adult Education

This Table encourages and leads adult Christian education, which at Lord of Life, we believe is a crucial foundation for the Church.

Family Life

The health and well-beings of our families is of critical importance at Lord of Life. The purpose of the Table is to enrich the lives of our church families. The Family Life Table organizes Parents Night Out, Sunday Fun Days and other family outings. Each year we have a weekend Family Life Retreat. This spring we will be group camping at Roman Nose State Park.

Gardens and Interiors

These volunteers keep the church looking fresh and seasonal—inside and out.

Lord of Life is known for it hospitality. We bring people together with food and social events including brunches, dinners, pot luck dinners, chili cook-offs, ice cream socials, wedding and baby showers, mid-week meals during Advent and Lent, the Advent Dinner in December and meal support for ill and grieving families. Those who like to cook and entertain are invited to the Hospitality Table.

Those who come to the Nature Table able are committed to environmental issues and helping the congregation become wiser and more faithful stewards of God's creation.

The Property Table maintains the church building, equipment systems, outdoor building and grounds. This Table is not limited to repair and maintenance by members of the congregation but includes coordinating and receiving bids from outside contractors when necessary.

We are the Hands and Feet of Christ in the world. The Christian Service Table leads the congregation in fulfilling this call. As active members of the Kingdom of God, we support the following organizations and many other causes:

- Project66 Community Food Pantry

- Faith Works

- Hope Center

- Oaks Indian Mission

- Habitat for Humanity

- Lutheran Prison Ministry

- Medical Mission Tanzania

- ELCA Disaster Response

Table of Joy

The Table of Joy centers its work on the worship and music of the congregation.  Along with the music staff, the group discusses music and liturgical options, plans special music events and leads worship on a weekly basis.

Table of the Least

This Table leads the congregation in advocacy for the hungry, poor, homeless and forgotten in our community and world. Those at the Table help the congregation understand the underlying reasons that so many people fall victim to poverty and oppression.
